One quick thing before LinkedIn.
The next page is LinkedIn's. We use it to make sure every person on Buoy is a real person, and that's all we use it for.
What we get
Your name, your photo, and the email on your LinkedIn account. That's it. It's what shows next to you when you help someone.
What we never get
Your connections, your messages, your feed, who you follow. LinkedIn doesn't offer them to us, and we wouldn't want them.
Why LinkedIn
It's the hardest place on the internet to fake a person. That keeps bots and spam out of the people who answer your call.
You'll see LinkedIn's own permission screen next. It lists exactly the three things above. After that you come straight back here and the Buoy app signs itself in. Your sign-in stays on this Mac: we store a key the app holds, not your LinkedIn password. Privacy.
